![]() So much has happened in Phantasy Star Universe lately... but I'm really slow with posting about it. Shred the Darkness just ended, and I never posted about it all while it was up. It was pretty fun though. I guess I'll try to recap it later. Right now lets cover some recent happenings. Yesterday the Phantasy Star Portable day (posted about that here) prizes were doled out, so people who participated in that event can find some freebies in their common box. First up is the hilarious and possibly most annoying weapon ever, the Real Handgun+. It's an A rank handgun. Every time you fire a sound clip saying 'Come on!' goes off. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I wonder how many people will get kicked from random parties for using this thing. =P |
![]() After hearing about the recently announced Pokemon Gold and Silver remakes (so excited!) I decided to relive my memories of the Johto region with my old Crystal cart. As I expected, the battery was dead, and gone with it was my ability to save. The batteries in the Gold, Silver and Crystal carts tend to die out faster than the Red, Blue, Green and Yellow carts because they have an internal clock which keeps draining the battery even when you aren't playing. My tools: 3.8mm gamebit, a thin knife, a CR2032 battery, and some electrical tape. Removing the old battery is a cinch if you've got a soldering iron, but sadly I do not and had to slowly work it off the tabs with a knife. If you do this, be careful and always have the knife pointed away from your body and hands, or else you might cut yourself. So, was the replacement a success? I turned on the game and saved in the first room, and checked it a few hours later... |
![]() I've got a huge backlog of stuff I wanna post about. Guess that's what happens when you leave home for awhile. I'm back and have been catching up on my games, so let's start with yet another Pokemon post! =P I've been taking my sweet time with Pokemon Platinum so I'm not that far, but it already has tons of neat stuff right at the start. Here's what I like so far.
I can't wait to get farther into the game, so I can start seeing the later story changes, and the brand spanking new Battle Frontier! Also looking forward to the Battleground, since that's where you can battle gym leaders again, and the tag battle partners for the first time. Anyways... moving on! The first Wi-Fi Mystery Gift event has hit the US, so read on for a far too detailed run-down on what's up. |
![]() As some of you may remember from my first post about Shadows of Almia, I wasn't really enjoying it, but decided to march on regardless for some rare Pokemon. It may look like a Pokemon game on the outside, but it sure as heck didn't play like one. Gone are the turn based battles, replaced with spinning the stylus around your target. Captured Pokemon are merely temporary, good for one use on the field to remove obstacles that impede your progress, or in battle to assist in capturing something stronger. I decided to play the game one mission at a time to keep myself from getting too annoyed with it, but as the days went on I found myself playing a bit longer each time... |
![]() Hooray! I was expecting Pokemon Platinum to arrive tomorrow because of the projected delivery date for my order, but I get to enjoy it a day earlier. I could have just foregone the waiting completely and picked it up at a store on the 22nd, but it's too late for that. XD Anyways, I'll save my initial impressions for a later post. Right now I'd like to share some pictures of the preorder bonus: a neato mini-figure of Giratina made by Kaiyodo. Read on to check it out. |
