Kooh plastic model? Yes please!
Kooh plastic model
Spotted this little cutie while checking out the Figure / GK board today. My first thought was that it was custom built, but then I noticed the Hobby Search watermark. Turns out it's an upcoming release from newbie figure maker, Plum. I'm unsure if all of the parts come pre-painted, so at the very least you should expect to snap the kit together, and at the very most you'll have to paint everything aside from the eyes. I'll edit this post when I find out. She will be released late April, and is available for pre-order now at Hobby Search and AmiAmi.

And since we're on the subject of Pangya and figures, guess I should update a bit on the Lucia figure I posted about ages ago. Remember how she was supposed to ship in November? Well, I'm not sure when exactly the delay happened, but now she's set to release in late February. If you buy her from AmiAmi, you'll get an exclusive phone card too. I held off on pre-ordering because I liked the alternate color version a lot more. Sadly, it was limited to 300 pieces at the Hobby Japan online shop and sold out overnight. If you're feeling loose with your money, someone is selling the limited version on Yahoo Japan Auctions at a 4,020 yen markup. Is it sad that I really considered it? Hahahaha. Oh well! You win some, you lose some.

[2/7 Update] While looking at WF2010 Winter coverage today, I came across this photo at Akiba Hobby. Looks like Ken and Erika (or Nuri and Hana to the rest of us) are up next in the series of plastic kits. I'm surprised that they're making Nuri, lol. Figured they'd roll out Arin or Lucia instead. But hey, variety is nice! Also seeing as the photo shows off Kooh's different hair colors, I'm gonna go ahead and assume that all the parts come unpainted, aside from the eyes which were confirmed as painted before. Gonna have to bust out the acrylics for this one.

See you on the other side!
20100121_00.jpg
Today an announcement went up regarding the PC/PS2 version of Phantasy Star Universe. After January 29th, no more new subscriptions can be created, and the servers will close completely on March 31st. You can read all about it here. The 360 version will continue operating, so to those playing there, have fun! Also, something interesting to note at the end of the announcement...

While we are sad to see the PC/PS2 version of Phantasy Star Universe end, the year 2010 is the 10th anniversary of Phantasy Star Online -- and this server / service closure is helping to pave the way for bigger and better things for the Phantasy Star franchise in the very near future!

Thank you all again for the support and great times together with us here at SEGA playing PSU! We look forward to seeing you again in our new adventures!

I'd like to think they're alluding to something bigger than Phantasy Star Portable 2's English release here, maybe something like this? Let's wait and see, shall we? Or Edward can go and just give it away. Still, I'm going to be cautiously optimistic. Anyways, I feel rather calm about the whole thing, but it's probably because it's been in the back of our minds for a long time now. Just a few nights ago on PSU, our conversation steered in this kind of direction, and we all agreed that we were staying until the bitter end. Well, this is it guys!

I'll continue posting PSU stuff as usual, but just give me a moment to get all mushy and sentimental right now, hahaha.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 demo
20100119_00.jpg
Been plugging away at the Phantasy Star Portable 2 demo over the past few days. I made my character ages ago and then forgot about it, lol. ;_; I still don't have the full game yet, but I'll try to order it this weekend. Money is tight so I just wanna make sure I have enough to get by, haha. 8D;; The demo has been real nice in the meantime. Read on for my thoughts and what not.

Livestream test
Resident Evil 4
Yeah, I ran out of handgun bullets. Don't ask... Anyways, Brett and Brooke and the rest of those cool cats have gotten into the habit of streaming games now and then for our amusement. We all do one big conference call on Skype and hilarity ensues. It can get a bit noisy though, what with everyone talking over each other... =P Even though I always tend to show up like an hour or two into the streams, every single one has been a ton of fun.

Not sure how it happened, but Kiko started talking about how he wasn't that good at Resident Evil 4. My 'ramble mode' activated and I started typing up a storm of tips for him. I forgot how easy it is for me to go off about that game, lol. After a few lines, I was like wait... why don't I just SHOW you how I play it? And so begins a terrible journey!

Shiny Pichu Distribution
Shiny Pichu and Spike Eared Pichu
A Pokémon update, while I'm not even home? Welp, why not? It's been awhile! The new Pokémon site accidentally posted up the shiny Pichu distribution information early. It's been taken down already, but of course the people who saw it were quick to spread the word. Just head to a GameStop location between Jan 30th and Feb 14th with your Diamond, Pearl or Platinum cart to receive the shiny Pichu via local wireless mystery gift. When HeartGold and SoulSilver are released (March 14th!) you can trade it over to one of the games and walk with it to the Ilex Forest shrine, where you'll receive a spiky-eared Pichu. S-so adorable. ;_; And while this is nice and all, where's the Azure Flute? I'm still waiting for that one!

Now for some random fun. Today is January 12th, Masuda's birthday. If you go to Snowpoint City in your Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum games, you'll be able to see the diamond dust weather effect. It has a rare chance of happening randomly all year round, but every year on January 12th you can see it for sure. It's especially lovely in real life too. I want to see it again!

Guess I'll go play my Platinum game for a bit now, lol. I've been playing it on the commuter rail too, so I should be completely done before HeartGold and SoulSilver get released. See yas!

Happy New Year!
New Years Wallpaper
Ugghhhhhh... I mean uh, yes! My neck hurts a lot, haha. ;_; But I finished it! Ahh! Don't even get me started on how many different ideas I had, lol. So many pictures trashed. Even this one was hard to continue on, but I really liked how Chelsea turned out so I kept at it. Glad I did. You may grab it in various resolutions over here. Also bonus shot I showed to the AIM kiddos midway cuz they kept asking what I was drawing, lol. Only downside is that doing this just pushed all that individual stuff I have to draw even further into oblivion. I'm sorry. ;_; Y'all will get yours soon!

Sadly I'm being dragged off again today, so no posts here for awhile. My friend and I have been playing all the Fatal Frame games again to get ready for the 4th one, since the translation patch is almost done. You don't even need a modded Wii or homebrew channel to use it. Bless those crazy kids and their coding magic. Well, I wish you all happiness and luck in this new year. Bye!
