First off... lemme start this post by saying sorry that I haven't updated in awhile! I don't know why I'm apologizing though, it's my blog and I can post whenever I want to! But seriously, haha, I'll try to update more regularly here.
![]() I got the second Pokemon Ranger game, Shadows of Almia, a few days ago. Managed to win it in an eBay auction for just $20, and the game was unregistered, so I got Club Nintendo points too! I've only played the game for a little over two hours and sadly I feel as if I've seen all it has to offer. XD It's really cute, but it's way too easy, and the gameplay makes my hand hurt because capturing/battling is done by spinning the stylus in circles around your target. It wouldn't be so bad if they mixed up the motions a little... Anyways, I'm not surprised that I'm underwhelmed, cause it's a spinoff and not one of the normal games. Can't compare it to the first Pokemon Ranger game cause I never played that one. But despite all that, there's a reason I wanted to get this game. Especially in these past few days... because I had nearly forgotten about a cool feature this game has: Ranger Net! ![]() Ranger Net contains several downloadable missions. In the first game, bonus missions like these were simply unlockable, but in the second one, you have to download them on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. And to make matters worse for Poke-freaks like me... they're only available for a limited time! So yeah, basically... I rushed to buy this game just to download some Pokemon. I'm hopeless, hahaha. Anyways, the bonus missions are split into two categories: special missions and extra missions. Special missions let you transfer the Pokemon you acquired to one of the main games, like Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Extra missions don't let you transfer the Pokemon you confront. The special missions are long since over in Japan, and go away today in America, meanwhile Europe still has until February 14th to the download them. No idea how long the extra missions last. The stuff you can get is... Special Missions: a Manaphy egg, a Riolu that knows Aura Sphere, and a Darkrai Extra Missions: a fight with Dialga, and Palkia There's also an extra mission featuring Shaymin, but it's not out in America yet. I missed the Manaphy giveaway in America, and never got the first Pokemon Ranger game which also had a Manaphy egg, so I'm glad to get another chance to get one. I already have a Darkrai though, from the giveaway back in October 2008, but I guess it'll be cool to have a second one. The Riolu is pretty pointless though... the level is too high to use it in Little Battle in Pokemon Battle Revolution, which was what I was planning, haha. They are cute though, maybe I'll give it an everstone and keep it like that. Welp, that's enough dorkiness for one post. See you soon! |
